Role Overview
The VMS Lead is the primary resource for all Milestone VMS administration, operations, and expert-level support. This individual must hold an active Milestone certification and have deep expertise in enterprise VMS deployment and operations. They should also carry solid working knowledge of ACS to enable seamless cross-system support and to cover for Position 1 when required.
Primary Responsibilities – VMS (Expert Level)
- Administer camera onboarding, configuration, retention policies, and VMS user access management within Milestone XProtect.
- Monitor system health, storage utilisation, and performance across single and multi-site Milestone deployments.
- Deliver L2/L3 operational support, incident handling, and investigation assistance.
- Manage secure video retrieval, export, and strict chain-of-custody protocols for evidence.
- Maintain integrations with ACS, SOC, PSIM, and video analytics platforms.
- Support change management, audit activities, and maintain comprehensive VMS documentation.
- All VMS services delivered in line with Milestone certification standards.
Secondary Responsibilities – ACS (Working Knowledge)
- Provide cross-coverage support for ACS operations during peak periods, incidents, or leave of Position 1.
- Assist with credential management, access level queries, and basic controller troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with Position 1 on integrated ACS-VMS incidents and investigation support.
Qualifications & Experience – Position 2
Essential
- 8–12 years of hands-on physical security systems experience, predominantly in VMS.
- Active Milestone XProtect certification – current and valid (mandatory; must be maintained throughout engagement).
- Expert-level hands-on experience with Milestone XProtect: configuration, administration, multi-site deployments, storage management, and troubleshooting.
- Proven L2/L3 support track record in enterprise surveillance environments.
- Experience managing evidence handling and chain-of-custody for video exports.
- English proficiency – spoken and written (mandatory).
- Working knowledge of ACS platforms (any of Lenel, Siemens, Primion, Interflex, Nexus).
Desirable
- German language – spoken and/or written (client has EMEA operations; German-speaking stakeholders).
- Experience with Qognify or Siemens VMS platforms in addition to Milestone.
- PSIM / SOC operational environment exposure.
- Multi-site and global MNC experience.

- Must operate as a cohesive two-person team, covering each other’s disciplines, managing handovers, and maintaining shared documentation.
- Immediate joiners strongly preferred; maximum notice period 15 days.
